Running Injuries: Knee, Ankle & Foot Injuries & Planter Fasciitis

Date: April 24, 2019

Time: 6:30-7:30PM

Location: Elbow Drive

This workshop is designed for anyone who experiences lower extremity pain with activity. We will discuss common knee, ankle and foot injuries and provide take home strategies to strengthen affected areas and ease your pain. When forces from your feet are not transferred properly, they can lead to functional asymmetries, weakness, balance problems and pain. Since a quarter of your body’s bones are in your feet, poor biomechanics of the foot bones may be related to foot, ankle, knee, hip and back pain.

* Dr. Nenshi will provide two complimentary computer gait examinations to any participant interested in measuring timing and pressure changes in their feet from running or walking ($100 value that can not be traded in for cash or any other product or service). These examinations will be done consecutively, the first just before your activity (example before you go for a 15-minute run) and the other immediately afterwards. In this way you will have clinical data that identifies specifically how stress from your activity affects the muscles and ligaments in your feet and if they may be involved with your ankle, knee, hip and back pain.
