Accounts Payable Associate

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Accounts Payable, the incumbent will be responsible for Full-Cycle Accounts Payable processing including examining, verifying and reconciling a variety of transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure discounts and timely payments of vendor invoices by setting them up for weekly check runs.

  • Daily matching and posting large volume of purchase transactions to vendor invoices in computer software.

  • Resolve and communicate any discrepancies or outstanding balances on vendor accounts, including telephone, mail or email correspondence.

  • Reconciles monthly statements and manage AP files

  • Implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.

  • Acts as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Accounts Payable or combination of experience and/or education

  • Accounting background is considered an asset

  • Must be familiar working in a high volume and inventory-intensive environment.

  • A thorough understanding of a three-way matching system (purchase order, receiving and packing list) is required.

  • Advanced proficiency in excel and creating Pivot tables and V look up.

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.

  • Professional communication with vendors and employees at all levels of the organization

  • Capability to gather facts, analyze problems in depth and break down into components.

Customer Service Manager

Reporting to the Store Manager, the cash manager will ensure Planet Organic Markets’ customer service is the best in the industry by maintaining standards. Work with the team on cash handling procedures, and provide a role model to department staff by focusing on sales and customer service.

Duties:

  • Serve as a role model in providing memorable customer service and in increasing sales
  • Train, coach, and support employees to provide outstanding shopping experience for all customers
  • Ensure special orders are responded to quickly and effectively
  • Investigate and resolve customer service problems.
  • Use computerized cash register, handle cash and process credit cards
  • Schedule work and assign cashier breaks
  • Utilize the POS system, MS Office suite
  • Other projects and duties as requested by Store Manager

Physical Demands of Job may include standing for long periods of time and some lifting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager to ensure that the department is efficient.
